Spring Migration Has Begun
It happens every year— the weather gets warmer, the trees get greener, and those weirdos with multiple pairs of binoculars appear in your local park. It’s migration time, and that means the birders are back!
Many people use Spring Migration as a launchpad into a life of birding, and its easy to see why— every day brings new species with bright colors and beautiful songs. The closer you look, the more you see, and there are few hobbies that reward curiosity so quickly If you’ve ever considered getting in to birding, this is the time of year to do. You’ll be surrounded by fellow hobbiests, both seasoned vets and newbies.
Just… prepare to be a little frustrated. These little yellow monsters are fast, flighty, and uncooperative. Learning to ID them is one thing, but keeping them in front of your camera or binoculars is another task all together. But hey, you know how to get to Carnegie Hall, dontcha?
